Wet felting is the process of using water, soap, wool, and friction to merge the fibres together to create a fabric. Wet felting is an ancient craft and is where our very first textiles came from. The best thing about wet felting is that most things you need to get started are usually found in most households. To get started you need a bowl, soap, sponge, bubble wrap, spray bottle and wool. The only thing you may need to purchase is the wool! Once you have all your materials it is just a matter of using your soapy hands to merge the fibres together to create felt. It is such a fun, tactile experience!!!  

Through this technique, you can create many different shapes, forms, and textures. This technique allows for completely unique creations as the same thing can never be made twice! Through this technique, I have created so many unique pieces ranging from hats to vests to soft sculpture artworks. The possibilities are endless!
